Now available in the new 40s Eco-Tin, this product reflects S.D. Bell’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. The teabags are made from PuriSeal – a sustainable wood pulp-based paper infused with PLA (polylactide), a vegetable starch-based bioplastic – making them 100% biodegradable. Even the inner pouch is produced using the same PLA material.

Traditionally, the UK teabag industry has relied on paper blended with polypropylene (PP) to ensure effective sealing. S.D. Bell’s innovative shift away from hydrocarbon-based plastics marks a significant step towards more environmentally responsible packaging.
