First built on the dramatic coastal cliffs of north County Antrim by the MacQuillan family around 1500, Dunluce passed to the MacDonnell clan in the 1550s and became the seat of the Earls of Antrim in the 17th century. It remains one of the most iconic and atmospheric ruins in Ireland, complete with tales of a banshee and the night the castle kitchens fell into the sea.
